Chris Locke, has been living on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia since 
1996. His studio and gallery are in an old farmhouse just outside the popular 
beach town of Noosa. <br>

Born in London, Chris excelled at an early age in art with a natural gift for 
portraiture and copying old masters. In fact Chris's high school art teacher advised 
Chris that there was not much to gain by going to Art College as most of todays 
Art is done by Girls. Was he Right or was it just teachers sourer grapes? <br>

Consequently Chris is a self taught painter, graphic artist, printmaker and photographer.

Now in mid life Chris is concentrating on fine oil and acrylic painting some of 
which have a distinct lean towards surrealism. He feels that his art should contain 
a deeper meaning beyond the first impression and you may find hidden images in 
many of his paintings.
